Advertise on Facebook’s YouTube App
YouTube Box and Posted Items Pro on Facebook offer advertisers a unique way to promote their products and services. Advertisers have the ability to integrate their multimedia messages into the functionality of the application which engages the application’s user base much more than typical banner advertising.
About YouTube Box
YouTube Box is one of the largest and most active YouTube applications on Facebook today. YouTube Box has over 560,000 monthly active users and is in the “top 3″ music and “top 7″ video applications on Facebook. It has received many “five star” reviews from its avid user base comprised of 50% male and 50% females. The application generates over 1,000,000 page views a month.
YouTube Box is used on over 10,000 prominent Facebook “Pages” in the areas of politics, entertainment, and education. For example, Facebook’s largest “page”, for presidential candidate Barack Obama with over 3 million fans, utilized YouTube Box to showcase campaign videos to the Facebook audience.
Included in each advertising campaign are the following components.
Example Items
Each new application user receives 2 “Example Items” which are used to demonstrate the application’s functionality to the user. “Example Items” are provided by the advertiser for the duration of the campaign. They can be a mix of videos, images, or audio with links to the advertiser’s site. “Example Items” offer the most integrated form of advertising as users will leverage them to experience how the application operates, while getting exposed to the advertiser’s messages.
“Example Items” are ideal for advertisers that have video based content such as Movie trailers, TV commercials, etc.
‘Sponsored By’ Message
Each campaign includes a “sponsored by” message that is prominently displayed on the top center of the application’s home page (“All my items”). The “sponsored by” message is text based with one link to the advertisers site.
Banner Ads
The entire inventory of banner ads is provided to the advertiser during the campaign. The banners are prominently displayed on the top of each page and go across the entire available page width. Size: 645×80.
Pricing
Campaigns are priced on a “cost per thousand” (CPM) impression model. One low CPM for the overall application Page Views covers all of the described advertising vehicles from banner ads, video impressions, and sponsor message impressions.
Example: If YouTube Box generated 1,150,000 page impressions overall for a given month, this would result in:
- 1,000,000 banner ad impressions
- 100,000 to 300,000 video ad impressions
- Approximately 500,000 sponsor message impressions
For a cost of CPM x 1,150.
